Hogtown's best places to party on St. Paddy's Day

Best place for an authentic Irish experience

The Ceili Cottage - 1301 Queen St. E. (416)-406-1301

With a fourteen hour day ahead of you, you're going to need more than a little luck to get through this.

Why not step up to the Guinness and Bushmills bar to sample a little of the Green Isle's greatest with the guy who teaches lessons on all that is libations - Thirsty Traveller host Kevin Brauch.

After getting a good base in the ol' boiler, settle back to the day-long songs and sounds of The Mere Mortals and Celtic Cross. Feel more inclined to dance than recline? Join one of the lassies from the Gilchrist-Canavan Irish Dancers.

19 and older after 5 p.m. $10 at the door - proceeds to Gil-Can School.

Best place for a rowdy crowd:

Baby Huey - 72 Ossington Ave. (416)-992-5462

Join bartender and (authentic) Irishman Richie Smith for Irish I Were Drunk - The Official Queen West St. Patrick's Day Party.

Featuring $4.50 Guinness, $4 shots of Jameson, $12 pitchers of draft and $6 Irish car bombs, your face is likely to match the beer by mid-afternoon.

With an (official) capacity of only 45, plan to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Best place for a completely un-Irish experience:

Burger Bar - 319 Augusta Ave. (416)-922-7423

Five words covers it all: Lucky Charms-infused Irish whiskey.

But, in case you need more to go on, the bar will also serve up traditional Irish fare including Irish stew, soda bread and, needless to say, Guinness.

$20 per person for all of the above. All items also available à la carte.
