We've had five sales already this month and I think the onset of the HST this summer has sellers and buyers moving quickly to avoid extra costs.

For the next six months, I expect overall real estate stability, but there are indeed some “bubbles” out there that will inevitably burst. There are also still some serious pockets of opportunity.

T.O. gets 'C' grade on housing report card

T.O. gets 'C' grade on housing report card

In a new housing report card, The Conference Board of Canada has dished out a 'C' grade to Toronto. Overall, of the 50 Canadian cities ranked in the report, Toronto claimed the 40th spot. The top ranked city for housing in Ontario was Oakville, which ranked 4th and had an 'A' grade.

GTA home prices: How your neighbourhood fared

Check out this interactive map showing how housing prices were affected by the market slump and rebound between 2007 and 2009. As for Post City neighbourhoods, the data shows prices in Bridle Path, Rosedale and Forest Hill are down compared to their 2007 levels. But overall, the GTA’s median resale prices in 2009 hit $353,800, a two-year change of 13.3 per cent.
