Buyers fight over $475/square foot 'bargain'

Prospective buyers of the new X2 condo development, which will be built at Jarvis and Charles Streets, argued and shouted with each other Wednesday after confusion erupted over who would be allowed to purchase first. The builder, Great Gulf Homes, is holding the sales event at the Intercontinental Hotel on Bloor Street. According to reports, some agents had been lining up on the south side of Bloor for more than a week to make sure they would be first to buy.

Will the HST affect the T.O. housing market?

Will the HST affect the T.O. housing market?

Probably it will, but the market will get over it very rapidly. I suspect the impact will be more through alarmist anticipation. Compromises will be made, and the HST concept tax will be imposed. Frankly, despite the rhetoric, we all know that this will eventually happen. Shortly thereafter, another “earth-shattering” event will come along to catch the attention of economists, experts, media, politicians, and spokespeople for the industry associations.

No such thing as 'good' or 'bad' buildings in T.O.

I am often asked: “What are the best buildings to buy in, and not to buy in?” The first thought that runs through my mind (as a still-functional realtor) is that any such answer is bound to burn some unnecessary bridges and unleash a wave of disagreement e-mails. Life’s too short.
