Love of Mine is a magical new boutique on Queen Street West with really interesting accessories and a few unique clothing pieces. My eyes begin to sparkle as soon as I walk into this boutique and notice the décor.

TOMS shoes makes really cool shoes. Cool because they are simple in their rugged design and can thus be worn with almost anything. Cool because they are made by a man who wants to help people and actually donates one pair of shoes for every pair that he sells!

Women tend to think that hats don’t look good on them. If you are one of these women, I highly recommend taking a trip to College and Bathurst to frolic in the world of Lilliput Hats.
Lilliput Hats is an environment where playing, and trying new things, is encouraged.

I've always been a fan of Calvin Klein. So, as you can imagine, I sank into a mini-funk when I heard the 150 Bloor St. location was closing. Luckily, as it turns out, Calvin isn't abandoning us -- they've just relocated.

Cat Tilt is a beautiful store for women who are looking for fashionable casual and active wear options. Alison, the owner, focuses on pieces that function well for dancers, yogis, or casual strolls in the park.

That time of the year again. It's down to New York City to launch my new collection for Spring-Summer 2010. With a staff of 35, we’re not the biggest fashion company but we produce every collection right here in Toronto, designing and making beautiful clothing that can compete with other designers and manufacturers from all over the world.

Fashion is such a constantly changing market, where last season's "pinks" turn a hideous hue when compared to this season's "reds." It's hard to keep up with what is current and what will leave you looking like Jan Brady. I feel I must share with you a little secret: the store where I do most of my shopping is not found at any mall or in any trendy downtown area.

It can be difficult to find beautiful garments that are not only appropriate for a day at the office, but also include modern style details. Trish Ewanika has been designing and making classic pieces with a modern twist for more than a decade.

With fall in full swing, it's hard not to think about footwear. Summer sandals and adorable flats must be put aside (or worn with socks, and let's face it, you don't want to be the socks-with-sandals lady, do you?) The answer to fall's footwear conundrum is, of course, the boot.

Recently, a customer began telling me that she had been out of the workforce for the past three years having a family. She said she was now returning to her former job as a lawyer and that it was time for her to “dress up” and start to wear a suit to work again.

At the Lola and Gigi boutique, I immediately fell in love with two designers -- Anna Scholz and Melissa Masse -- who both have collections filled with glorious dresses. Of particular interest to me was a Scholz silk wrap dress with bright yellow lilies that is perfect for a tall curvy woman who wants a piece that can go from day to evening.

One of my favorite things about working in Manhattan was a store called Anthropologie. With all these happy memories, you can imagine how happy I was to hear that "my store" would be coming to Toronto.
