Liisa Winkler's blog: TOMS brings shoes to T.O. and to kids in need

TOMS shoes makes really cool shoes. Cool because they are simple in their rugged design and can thus be worn with almost anything. Cool because they are made by a man who wants to help people and actually donates one pair of shoes for every pair that he sells!

Wendy Woods' blog: Haute hats at College Street boutique

Women tend to think that hats don’t look good on them. If you are one of these women, I highly recommend taking a trip to College and Bathurst to frolic in the world of Lilliput Hats. Lilliput Hats is an environment where playing, and trying new things, is encouraged.

Nothing gets between me and my Calvins

I've always been a fan of Calvin Klein. So, as you can imagine, I sank into a mini-funk when I heard the 150 Bloor St. location was closing. Luckily, as it turns out, Calvin isn't abandoning us -- they've just relocated.

Liisa Winkler's blog: My secret place to shop in Toronto

Fashion is such a constantly changing market, where last season's "pinks" turn a hideous hue when compared to this season's "reds." It's hard to keep up with what is current and what will leave you looking like Jan Brady. I feel I must share with you a little secret: the store where I do most of my shopping is not found at any mall or in any trendy downtown area.

Franco Mirabelli's blog: The perfect suit

Recently, a customer began telling me that she had been out of the workforce for the past three years having a family. She said she was now returning to her former job as a lawyer and that it was time for her to “dress up” and start to wear a suit to work again.

Wendy Woods' blog: Wrap it up

At the Lola and Gigi boutique, I immediately fell in love with two designers -- Anna Scholz and Melissa Masse -- who both have collections filled with glorious dresses. Of particular interest to me was a Scholz silk wrap dress with bright yellow lilies that is perfect for a tall curvy woman who wants a piece that can go from day to evening.

Liisa Winkler's blog: My first 'shop affair'

One of my favorite things about working in Manhattan was a store called Anthropologie. With all these happy memories, you can imagine how happy I was to hear that "my store" would be coming to Toronto.
