Morning Throwback: before Toronto Fringe Festival existed, there was weird dinner theatre

Circus or theatre group, circa 1912 (Toronto Archives: Fonds 1244, Item 2273)

The Toronto Fringe Festival is this weekend, but 100 years ago, Torontonians waited in line to see this: a cast of characters that look like they belong on the playbill for Murder Mystery Night in Orillia or something. Clearly, they’re busting out straight up D.W. Griffith acting skillz (we hope — or it’s going to be a long 75 minutes).
