Two Door Cinema Club will rock out this Friday at Sound Academy, bringing their catchy tunes to Toronto. The world-famous indie band from Northern Ireland, with their energetic beats and electronic influences, will jam the night away after doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available online.

Toronto’s Oktoberfest… or something

Join Brewer’s Backyard and Beau’s All-Natural Brewing Co. for their last bash of the year, named, appropriately, Torontoberfest. This celebration of beer will showcase a number of Beau’s brews, from Lug Tread Lagered Ale to Night Märzen. Also making an appearance will be their pumpkin beer, Weiss O’Lantern. The people from Cask Days (Oct. 27-28) will be also be hanging out and giving away tickets. Torontoberfest will last from 12-4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8.

Thanksgiving brunch fit for royalty

Have a Thanksgiving brunch in style at Casa Loma library. Feel like royalty as you munch on Thanksgiving goodies, from traditional carved turkey to Pacific wild salmon and desserts galore. After filling up on pastries and candied yams, roam the castle on a self-guided tour. Brunch is served at four different times throughout the day on Sunday, Oct. 7.

Chocolate and cheese

You’ll never have to choose between cheese and chocolate again — at least on Saturday. Join other cravers this weekend for the Chocolate and Cheese Crawl and stroll through the King West and Queen West neighbourhoods, visiting specialty food shops, tea boutiques and cupcake shops. The savory and sweet tour starts at 11 a.m.

We’ve had TIFF, now how about TPFF?

The Toronto Palestine Film Festival is underway, celebrating its fifth year of bringing Palestinian culture to Toronto. Running now through Oct. 7, TPFF will show films centered around Palestinian music, cuisine and art. Check out a bevy of films, including Habibi by Susan Youssef, which is considered the Romeo and Juliet of the Arabic world. Tickets are $10 for regular admission and $7 for students and seniors.
