By now, pretty much everyone is well aware of The Burger’s Priest’s position at the top of the city’s burger totem pole. With two locations spinning out the goods (one east, one north), owner Shant Mardirosian isn’t stopping his domination any time soon; folks can expect to find new joints, well, just about everywhere in the not-so-distant future.
This week’s pick is the so-called Fiery Furnace burger ($11), a hot-off-the-presses addition to the secret menu that’s only posted online. Beginning with the ultra-premium beef that makes up all of the burgers (save for that vegetarian number), two meat patties are cooked to order on a flat top. Topped with American cheese and bacon, the lot is joined with mounds of cherry pepper compound butter, and it’s all tucked into a soft white bun.
If desired, other classic toppings are available (ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion), but don’t even think of asking for relish.
Just remember: they’re closed on Sundays for church.
