Spotted: Gold at the end of the rainbow trend

Chances are a few rainbow-hued food items have caught your attention as of late. We’re all familiar with the ole rainbow cake, but the rainbows are spilling over into other realms of food. Brooklyn’s the Bagel Store has been doing mad business thanks to those eye-catching ROYGBIV swirls. However, here in T.O., we’re not slacking, thanks to mini burgers and lattes doing the rainbow proud.

At Bull Dog Coffee, award-winning barista Stuart Ross has been pouring gorgeous pastel-hued lattes, allowing customers to wear their hearts, well, in their cups. They’re almost too pretty to drink. Show up before 2 p.m., which is when the colourful pours tend to stop for the day.

Meanwhile, those seeking out ooh-inducing party treats can order up rainbow dessert burgers through Burger Pawty. Two mini waffles hold a slab of strawberry ice cream topped with a cloud of strawberry Fancy Pufs cotton candy and — but of course — a sprinkling of Lucky Charms. Yum.
