Paradise Farms Café, situated just east of Bayview Village on Sheppard, is the brand new restaurant/café extension of real estate magnate Shane Baghai’s continually-growing empire. All of the meat for the enterprise comes directly from Baghai’s Paradise Farms in nearby Caledon, which specializes in the production of meat reared with humane and sustainable farming techniques.

The space features a large central counter where sandwiches can be topped with ingredients hand-picked by customers, as well as a spacious, modern interior with 30 seats and a large wrap-around patio seating 26.

The menu itself is designed to showcase the cream of Paradise Farms’ crop, including a burger sourced from Aberdeen Angus cattle ($6.95-$8.95), a veal burger made from milk-fed veal strip loin ($9.95) and the mother lode, a 9-oz Koberger ($17.95), which features Wagyu beef (Paradise Farms has the largest herd of Wagyu cattle in Ontario).

Customers can garnish their burgers and sandwiches with a variety of toppings, many of which are custom-made in house, including homemade ketchup and aiolis, as well as specialty toppings like crispy shallots, sautéed mushrooms and sautéed bell peppers along with the usual burger fare.

In addition to the signature burgers and steak sandwiches, Paradise Farms Café also serves coffee, tea and pastries.

“The concept was to do a combination of a burger restaurant and a café,” says Alireza Khosrowshahi, vice president at Shane Baghai Group of Companies. “We wanted to create a modern and comfortable atmosphere for people to enjoy food in a relaxing environment.”

Baghai’s ambitions for Paradise Farms Café are big, so keep an eye out for more locations in the near future.
