Toronto’s Best Sandwiches: the Shrimp’wich at Little Italy’s Fuel House

The Shrimp'wich (Image: Karolyne Ellacott)

Tucked around the corner from Little Italy’s main drag, Fuel House serves up pints and grub in a charming pub setting. Those looking to mow down can set up camp in one of the rooms of the reno’d Victorian home, or opt to indulge in a little patio party.

From the sandwich-laden menu, our pick is the Shrimp’wich ($12), since it manages to be both comforting and summery all at once.

A troop of deep-fried and battered shrimp is slathered with house-made dill tartar sauce and topped off with some red cabbage and fennel slaw for a bit of crunch. The whole affair is piled onto an OMG milk bun and served with a side of coleslaw.

Fuel House, 53 Clinton St., 416-846-4217
