Rebozos brings its tacos downtown

Toronto’s taco craze is showing no signs of letting up: popular Mexican restaurant Rebozos has expanded with a new location on College Street, just east of Bathurst. Previously, Rebozos was a bit of a trek for downtowners who wanted a taste of its highly-regarded tacos (Toronto Life recently deemed Rebozos’ beef tongue taco as one of the best in the city).

The new location officially opened today, featuring the same menu as the original Rogers Road location for now; keep an eye out for shrimp tacos and fish tacos in the next few weeks.

Rebozos, 424 College Street, 416-356-1840

Cherry-picking the menu works really well. Some of the fusion items, where East meets Latin, are really fun. Chef’s suite of ceviches are superbly entertaining: we’re captivated by the variegated flavours of tiraditos, raw tuna napped in passion fruit and lulo sauce, with black and white sesame seeds, chili-studded purée of butternut squash and baby greens.

Blink and you’ll miss Museum Tavern. Squirreled upstairs and across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum sits the suitably named brasserie. The charming space has been satiating museum goers since it opened back in 2012.
