Retail Therapy: Affordable big-name designer fashions at Garb, Queen West’s newest boutique

Published:

“The wonderful thing about our shop is that we do not cater to one esthetic, rather we cater a little to every esthetic,” says owner Dan Welch.

Queen West has welcomed a new consignment shop to the fashion-conscious neighbourhood. At Garb, men and women will find a range of items including shoes, purses, accessories and jewellery sold at a fraction of the cost.

Fashion-forward women coming in, looking for their dream Dior or Chanel bag or needing a show-stopping Oscar de la Renta dress for an event like TIFF, will feel as if Garb is a godsend. Among some of its current inventory are a gorgeous tweed sheath dress from Oscar de la Renta that retailed for $5,000 but is listed at Garb for $1,195, a flawless vintage Hermès silk skirt for $525 and floor-length BCBG dresses for $100.

“The wonderful thing about our shop is that we do not cater to one esthetic, rather we cater a little to every esthetic,” says owner Dan Welch. “With new arrivals and pieces being sold daily, the store is constantly evolving, so it’s an entirely different treasure hunt for returning customers.”

Nestled in the vibrant and eclectic Queen West neighbourhood, Garb should feel right at home with the other already established vintage and consignment shops in the area.
