It may look like the October out there, but that won’t last forever (we hope). Despite the weather, we’ve found the best designer sample sales over this weekend and next to help you prep your summer wardrobe at a steal.
Toronto based designer Lucian Matis, whose couture creations are worthy of the Parisian runways, is selling off his summer stock from both his high-end namesake label as well as his lower-priced sister line MATIS by Lucian Matis.

When: Saturday June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Ever wonder what happens to all those clothes after a movie wraps? Well, it gets sold! The one-day-only Movie Wardrobe Sale includes over 30 vendors from costume designers to industry suppliers. Partial proceeds of the $5 admission goes to The Actors’ Fund of Canada, with free entry for members, children and seniors.

After working for renowned Canadian designer Lida Baday, Dennis Merotto ventured out on his own to start a label. His pristine tailoring, modern silhouettes and flirty use of colour make his designs a must-have for any downtown go-getter.
Where: 1042 Bathurst St., The Antiques Building (South of Dupont, West side)
When: June 6-8 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Three great Canadian contemporary lines have come together under one roof to sell off their end-of-season stock and samples. Look out for the crocheted works of jewellery designer Arielle de Pinto, contemporary re-imaginings of the basic T-shirt from complexgeometries and Jeremy Laing’s coveted runway pieces.
