If my grandmother, may she rest in peace, had been a classically trained chef, all the love she poured into cooking for us would have been like Frank’s Kitchen, because chef/co-owner Frank Parhizgar wouldn’t know a shortcut if it hit him in the face. From the beginning of dinner (with fab house-made breads and an amuse of silken porcini velout) to the end (farewell deep dark chocolate truffles), he knocks himself out to produce complex and detailed plates with big flavours and seductive textures. His riff on pork is loin, rack and oozing belly with fab red cabbage, heirloom carrots and celeriac pure. Then cometh intermezzo of sangria sorbet. Frank is at the top of his game — and gaining.
