#96 Woodlot


Still one of the hottest tables in town thanks to its funky barnyard chic. There are two daily menus — one vegetarian and one meat; on the veg side they’re great at jazzing up veg and attaching unusual heights of flavour to the likes of gratin of tofu. Things feel simpler on the meat side, but always sincere and ambitious: House-made terrines and pastas are robust and loaded with flavour. They update farmhouse classics like pot pies and cabbage rolls. Desserts are more sophisticated and modern, although serving Soma chocolate pot de crème in a Mason jar is about as self-consciously pastoral as a College Street restaurant can get.
