#82 Asian Legend

Asian Legend

Asian Legend has risen from being only of dim sum interest to serving exciting northern Chinese food. Pork and shrimp wontons in spicy creamy peanut sauce are a great app. Hot and sour soup is peppery and fresh. Giant BC crab comes fried crispy in the best black bean sauce in town, made sweet and interesting with sweet peppers, celery, onion and ginger. Good enough to eat the shell! Everybody does snow pea shoots; here they’re more sophisticated, thanks to a soupy sauce built on crab. House special noodles are fat and redolent of five-spice, with pork and cabbage. They smoke and fry duck for crisp and complex. Noodles come with julienne of cucumber to cool the elaborate spicy peanut sauce.
