#96 Queen Margherita Pizza

Queen Margherita Pizza

QMP is the little pizzeria that could. They‘ve stayed fairly true to the pizza mission — and ramped their expansion, adding trendy pizzerias in Baby Point, then Dundas West and after that Richmond to their original Leslieville location. We still love the QMP crust cause it’s the anti-cracker, with the big mouth-feel of a trad pizzeria in Naples. Same for the toppings, of which our current fave is Gio Oldschool, with fior di latte fresh cheese, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and arugula on a thin smear of lovely San Marzano tomato sauce. But the snazzy new apps drive up the price of pizza dinner and are not so much fun, so stay with pizza. No need for watery octopus carpaccio or too-spicy sausage on polenta.
