#19 Porchetta & Co.

Porchetta & Co.

Porchetta 2.0 is even more wonderful than its parent. Here too there is chef/owner Nick auf der Mauer’s signature sublime warm sliced roast pork sandwich on Thuet French bread. This is pork with a pedigree. He takes great farmhouse pork, marinates it in sage, rosemary, lemon and garlic and then wraps it in prosciutto and pork belly and roasts it long and slow, so the sweet and savoury of the duet of sweet/salty porcine wraps can penetrate the flesh. He layers pork crackling, grainy house-made mustard and adds vinegary hot sauce to the meat, it’s heaven on a bun. The new menu addition at the King shop is superb ultra-crunchy fried chicken sandwich. The second shop also has a few tables with stools for eating in. Do not neglect the supernal rapini with chiles and garlic or the super-fresh frites.
