Upfront Theatre Foundation presents to you a Caribbean Brunch in aid of Rastafest Toronto on June 24th, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Upfront Studio Theatre, 1290 Finch Avenue West, Unit 17, (inside Keele Plaza). Donation: $15:00. Light entertainment provided. Special guest, Member of Parliament for York Centre, Mark Adler.
In recognition of Jamaica’s 50th Independence celebration Upfront Theatre Foundation will be staging the annual arts and culture festival, Rastafest in Jamaica (July 27th, 2012 to July 28th, 2012); in Toronto (August 25th, 2012) and in Ottawa (August 10th, 2012). The festival will highlight two of the Nation National Heroes, Rt. Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey and Nanny, the Maroon Warrior.
Upfront Theatre Foundation is a non-profit organization serving the children and youth in the Jane and Finch community. Rastafest is a multi-discipline festival showcasing different aspects of the Rastafari culture. The festival draws from the rich and diverse Rastafarian lifestyle and history. Activities include: music, dance, drumming, arts and craft market place, ital food cooking, film and video screening and a live international concert. Rastafest is a continuation of international and national Rastafarian initiatives.
