Plus, gourmet sandwich shop opens & new health food store arrives

Bites! Gourmet Sandwich Bar is set to open later this month

Owner Dave Gnesin is bringing the tastes of Italy and his decades of restaurant experience to Thornhill with Ferraro 502 North, which is opening later this month. The casual eatery will take its menu and name under a licensing agreement from the famous Ferraro on Eglinton Avenue in Toronto, a dining destination for the past 15 years (1118 Centre St., 289-597-2131).

Big and Tall Man’s Shop has been making men from the 905 look marvellous since 1978. Carrying a variety of clothing, from sportcoats to housecoats, and everything in between, the store has a focus on casual wear. To see the styles and selection for yourself, visit the store at 10520 Yonge St., or call 905-884-1513 for more information.

Co-owner Fasih Rahman is pleased to introduce Nature’s Health Zone to health-conscious Richmond Hillers. Carrying a selection of supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbs, the store also offers customers an on-site doctor specializing in naturopath. Plans to offer acupuncture are also in the works (1285 Elgin Mills Rd. E., #11, 905-737-9400).

Bites! Gourmet Sandwich Bar is set to open later this month. In addition to offering kosher and halal selections, the shop will also offer their signature world tour sandwiches, capturing the tastes of different locations around the globe. “We don’t want to be just another sandwich place,” says manager Josh Steinberg (9340 Bathurst St., 647-203-3833).

Banoo is celebrating five years in business in the Richmond Hill core. The shop specializes in Persian-style sandwiches and kebabs (10123 Yonge St., 905-737-2404).
