El Plebeyo is celebrating its 10th year in the neighbourhood. Co-owned by Mena Bustamante, the restaurant specializes in Peruvian delicacies, such as avocado salad and paella. El Plebeyo is a hit among residents since, as Bustamante explains, “It gives them a great opportunity to try Peruvian cuisine.” The cozy restaurant fills up quickly on weekends, so reservations are recommended. My Morning Muffin is a new business in our neighbourhood. Owned by Sarah Roe, who operates the bakery out of her Glenview Avenue home, it provides gourmet muffins delivered right to customers’ doors. “The idea is that it is a weekend breakfast treat to enjoy while reading the paper without having to leave home,” she explains. Eat My Words, an organization that sells cupcakes to support the Stephen Lewis Foundation, will host an art exhibition between May 16 and 23.
