Spanner celebrated the grand opening of its first free-standing, flagship showcase store at the Shops at Don Mills last month. The women’s retailer has been offering casual and formal clothing since 1971 but recently launched a new marketing campaign to update the brand. “This way customers have a go-to location to find Spanner in its entirety,” says CEO and president Geoffrey Lago, whose father founded the business. Lago says design director Susan Lee is responsible for the contemporary feel of the clothing lines. “For one of the last collections, she found graffiti on a wall in Barcelona, Spain,” Lago says. “She took a picture, and did an interesting print based on that inspiration.” Find the store at 35 Karl Fraser Rd., or call 416-444-4005.
