Oskar Varela, a veteran of the salon world, has opened his own salon, Oskar on Scollard, in the heart of Yorkville. Varela, who spent eight years at Salon Daniel, says he is passionate about discovering what his clients like and formulating a look that works for their lifestyle, rather than imposing his own. “I’m dedicated to finding the unique look that clients want,” he says. The owner of the salon also hopes to educate his clients about their hair, so their cut and colour will look great not only when they walk out, but in their everyday life. The salon also offers a full list of salon and aesthetic services — and a complimentary espresso and pastry for each client. Make an appointment at 68 Scollard St., or call 647-346-3306.
