Owner Guy Golan is excited to introduce aroma espresso bar. The shop offers all the standard hot beverage choices, including cappuccino, espresso and latte, as well as teas and hot chocolate. Started in 2008 by then 27-year old David Segal, DAVIDsTEA is a new addition to the upper level at Promenade Mall. With the philosophy “premium tea for all,” the shop carries more than 130 varieties of tea, including options like jumpy monkey maté. The store also stocks a selection of tea brewing accessories (1 Promenade Cir., 905-731-2525).
Owner Yoram Batner is proudly celebrating 27 of business at the Batner Bookstore in Thornhill. Specializing in educational books for Grades 1 through 12, the store also has an extensive section of kids’ and adult literature and textbooks. “A lot of people who bought their books here as kids are now bringing their own kids in,” says Batner (180 Steeles Ave. W., 905-731-4440).
Mel Grevler, owner of Party Supply Depot, recently expanded the store, adding an additional 4,500 square feet. In business for over 20 years, the store offers wholesale and retail party supplies as well as decoration services for events. “There’s not a person who comes in here that complains about our service,” says Grevler (92 Doncaster Ave., 905-764-5457).
