The perennial lineups at Lee Garden testify to its enduring excellence. Must-eats include the sweet succulent flesh of snazzy flash-fried zing of lobster with ginger and green onion. Only at Lee Gardens do huge BC oysters shine, baked in salty black bean sauce. Their Singapore noodles feature sweet ham and crispy bean sprouts in just enough curry. Flash sauteed pea greens are pristine emerald. Lee Garden was the first place in town to deep-fry shrimp in their shells with salt and pepper. Their followers are legion but their salt and pepper shrimp is still the crispest, its flesh made sweet by the salt benediction. No surprises here, nothing nouvelle, but always tasty. Go early or late to avoid long lineups.
