In a perfect world I would eat raw oysters every day, shucked by the charming and voluble Patrick McMurray, who stocks oysters from the Maritimes, B.C. and the U.K. Sweet little Malpeques, marvellous mid-sizes from the coast of Ireland, briny beauties from Nova Scotia.… Purists belly up to the bar and make a meal of raw bivalves. Patrick’s raw oysters with a multitude of clever sauces are impeccable, as are the raw clams. The sexy sweetness or raw shellfish is alive at Starfish. And for an oyster bar, they do a surprisingly good job on the cooked food too. Even the whole lobster is respected here, cooked only till the claws are barely firm.
