The sweetest little bistro east of Parliament downtown, Weezie’s is the go-to pre-theatre resto if you’ll be in the Distillery District. The small room’s candlelit coziness is reinforced by a beautifully executed trad bistro menu. We love the sexy smoothness of mousse-like boudin noir, (French blood sausage) nestled up nice with creamed celery root spiked with arugula and apple. Weezie’s mac ’n’ cheese is a work of art: Asiago and Parmiggiano in creamy béchamel with little chunks of bacon, baked crispy top, heaven on earth. And so good for you.… Their steak frites are grandly crisp frites with garlic mayo and an unusually generous strip loin. For dessert there is a caramel-tinged warm bread pudding, which they call malva pudding. This is comfort food incarnate.
