New North York comic book shop is more than meets the eye

Hairy Tarantula owners Daryl Collison and Leon Emmett recently crawled into Bayview.They sell board games including Magic and stock a wide selection of Anime, comic books and statues.“If there’s any question related to the genre, I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to come up with the answer,” says Collison (6979 Yonge St., 647-430- 1263).

Teenflo is a Canadian-designed and -produced line of high-end women’s fashions coming to Bayview Village. Owner Charles Le Pierres says the clothes are designed for working women who “can go out after work for a drink and still be stylish.” They have one location in Toronto (First Canadian Place), with the new store set to open April 1 (2901 Bayview Ave.).

Moksha Yoga North York is now offering prenatal yoga classes every Sunday. Expecting mothers can stretch and strengthen their bodies, while improving circulation to increase overall comfort. The class also teaches techniques to bring awareness to mind, body and spirit and helps moms-to-be connect with their babies (100 Sheppard Ave. E., 416-225-6767).

Donato Salon + Spa has expanded its brand. It has opened a store at Shops at Don Mills.Owner John Donato is the 2008 Editorial Stylist of the year from the North American Hairstyling Awards. He grew up in a family of hairstylists, and his work has appeared on the cover of Elle, Flare and Chatelaine (39 Clocktower Rd., 416-390- 9996).

Andy Thê-Anh will be adding a second location in Toronto at Bayview Village, in addition to his Yorkville store. Thê-Anh is one of the country’s hottest young designers of women’s clothing (2901 Bayview Ave.).
