Todd Sherman and Grant Warfield, the restaurateurs behind Hey Lucy
Hey Lucy has combined 100-yearold reclaimed wood, antique chandeliers and one of a kinds to make a unique Italian eatery and bar. Co-owner Todd Sherman says, “There is nothing in the Annex quite like it.” Their menu boasts mostly wood-burning oven pizzas and pastas, and their martini nights are what Hey Lucy is known for (440 Bloor St.W., 416-967-9670).
Hotel Gelato is the newest take on an old-time favourite. The owners both have experience in the hotel business and wanted to capture the ambience of a hotel lobby using chandeliers, fireplaces and complimentary newspapers.They have 24 flavours of gelato, plus sorbet, espresso and baked goods (532 Eglinton Ave. W., 416-932- CONE).
Bogart Menswear recently celebrated 33 years in menswear. Owner Pepe Appugliese says his philosophy is that you should always dress better than you have to. It’s their only location selling high-profile labels, such as the Messori line, plus a full selection of jackets, dress shirts, pants, ties, sweaters and more (1560 Yonge St., 416-961-6924).
The Chocolate Messenger has been making everything chocolate for 25 years. They sell truffles, pralines, hot chocolate, body paint, gift baskets and smash boxes. “You name it,” owner Richard Darocha says. He is originally from Switzerland and imports Lindt chocolate for all of his creations (1645 Bayview Ave., 416-488- 1414).
Gourmet Burger Co. will be opening in the first week of March at Yonge and Eglinton. Their menu is strictly burgers, featuring lamb, chicken and vegetarian (2419 Yonge St.).
