Offering roughly 60 different toppings for making your own salads, the shop also has stations offering wraps, pressinis and burritos. La Compagnie des Petits is a new arrival at the Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill. The French clothing store offers children’s clothing  for boys and girls that keeps comfort and practicality in mind and features embroidery, prints and beads. Clothing is broken down into three age groups: babies, toddlers and kids (9350 Yonge St., 905-508-1355).

For the last 45 years, co-owner Mario Filippelli has been the man to see about your mane at Mario & Alfredo Men’s Hairstyling in Thornhill. A barber since age 12, Filippelli learned the trade in Italy before moving to Canada and working at his uncle’s John Street shop, eventually taking over his share of the business (6 John St., 905-889-4188).

Owner Dwight Murray is excited to introduce Miami Fades to Richmond Hill heads this month. Offering fades and shaves, as well as special cuts and straight blade services, the shop, which bills itself as Richmond Hill’s first, also hopes to provide 905 customers with a little of Miami’s party atmosphere (10097 Yonge St., no phone number yet available).

The Party Supply Depot’s Halloween Superstore is now open just in time for the October event. Drop in and check out the selection of more than 400 costumes (92 Doncaster Ave., 905-764-5457).
