So many women say to me, "Oh, I just need a great cocktail dress, and I don't know where to go" or "I'm going to a wedding, and I don't really want to spend that much money on a dress." I always send them to Freda's, and they invariably find something. She has such an inventory. It's huge. When I go to Paris, I do a little bit of shopping, but I can't afford to go into the boutiques on Rue St.-Honoré. I just can't - I'm a working single mom. But I do go to shops on Saint Germain where they have really funky, trendy stuff for my girls and sometimes for me. If I want that type of dress - a pick-me-up kind of dress with a bit of an edge that I might wear to a great Christmas party or birthday party - I go to Freda's. Plus, it's relatively affordable. A dress is maybe $500, but not $5,000 or even $1,000. There's something for every body type, too.
