New denim shop comes to the neighbourhood

Plus, polished pedicures, a pizza spot, and more

Danny Ciampa recently opened Denim Culture, a clothing shop dedicated to jeans and jean accessories. With it, he’s bringing exclusive brands, such as Seven Jeans and Miss Sixty, to the neighbourhood. On top of shirts, shoes, belts and more, his store offers alterations that aim to maintain the original style of the jean (9360 Bathurst St., 289-468-1100).

Owners Casey Soer and Sari Nisker have brought Spynga The Yoga & Cycling Studio, up to the 905 with a new location in Thornhill. Blending the two distinct practices creates the ultimate workout, says Soer. On top of the signature spynga flow class, there are a range of options including weight loss with yoga and yoga for kids (10 Disera Dr., Suite 230, 905-882-7799).

Caterina Cerilli isn’t new to the Richmond Heights Plaza, but her salon, Polished Beauty Bar is. She’s worked there with her parents for 14 years. Now Cerilli is branching out with her own shop, offering nail, skin care and hair removal services, as well as a variety of beauty products. She does gel polish manicures in a range of colours (10520 Yonge St., 905-884-3222).

My Zaidy’s Pizza has opened a new location in the Vaughan area to serve the growing Jewish community there, says owner Uzi Atia. But it’s not the only community that his Kosher pizza caters to. “Lots of people don’t want to mix their cheese with meat,” he says. Also on offer are falafels, fries and baked goods (9340 Bathurst St., 905-832-4800).

All of the classes at Han’s Taekwondo Academy are taught by the master himself. The new studio offers classes to students from age four up to adults (14 Oxford St., Unit 1B, 905-237-8020).
