This event occurs weekly, on Monday and Wednesday.
The Baycrest Rotman Research Institute is seeking healthy older adults who notice changes in memory/thinking skills, but do not have a diagnosis of neurological conditions (e.g. Alzheimer’s, MCI, stroke), for a study on cognitive intervention. In addition, to participate in the study, older adults must be 60 - 85 years old, identify everyday tasks which they want or need to do but have difficulty with, and be able to read and understand English well. As a participant, you will be randomly assigned by research staff to attend either the Monday study (March 19 – May 28 no class on May 21) or the Wednesday study (March 21 – May 23). The study will last 10 weeks and the time will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. Please note that participants will NOT be able to choose which day they attend the study. An assessment will be held before and after training and will take place at Baycrest. There will be a booster group session two months after the training. Participants will be given more information on this. For more information or if you are interested in registering for this research study, please call Sherri at 416-392-0511, ext. 228 by Tuesday, March 6. Please do not call the Front Desk to register for this specific program. The researchers will require your phone number for pre-screening via the telephone.
