TOPIC: “Good Jobs and the Future of Work”

SYNOPSIS: This event features the short film “Prosperus” followed by an on-stage conversation and audience discussion. For some time Roger Martin has been thinking about the issue of prosperity – what drives it, who creates it and who benefits from it. One of the aspects of his thinking is about good jobs and the future of work. While many others are focused on how service jobs are going to be disrupted and replaced by technology, Roger and his colleagues at the Martin Prosperity Institute are interested in what can be done to augment those jobs and to tap into the full potential of the humans who are currently employed. They believe that this may be the key to our future prosperity. They are not alone in their thinking. Together with their colleagues at The Nantucket Project they created “Prosperus”, a 20-minute film that gives visual life to their collective concerns and ideas. Their hope is that the film will give their ideas more momentum and help to inspire real change.
