Morton’s keeps its place on the list thanks to the meat of the matter: Perfectly cooked hunks of spectacular aged beef go down like honey. Thick hunks of meat are red, juicy, full of marbling, beautifully seasoned and cooked, and loaded with flavor. All for a decent price. But service is ho hum and the fixin’s just keep losing traction. Their iceberg salad with blue cheese, the steakhouse signature, features soggy lettuce and cheap blue. Some days the fries are crisp… and some days they have the texture of a sponge in the bathtub. And the dim low-ceilinged space ain’t getting any younger.
