#23 Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto

Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto

Masaki Hashimoto has crafted an artwork that stands outside time. The restaurant serves only kaiseki, a meal of many light courses that was invented as an adjunct to the elaborate tea ceremony. Three hundred dollars a person buys dinner that is a parade of tiny edible treasures, the most perfect little Japanese dishes, each served on exquisite porcelain, each narrated with painstaking detail. After dinner is a guided tea ceremony. For serious Japanese food lovers only.
