#97 Rasa

The newest darling of the Annex, Rasa is a dark small resto with hipster servers, lots of dark wood and an uber-fusion menu. They welcome you with adorable warm pumpkin mini-muffins with a dollop of salted caramel butter on top. Indulge in po’ boy bites — big fat tempura shrimp atop buttery black squid ink brioche with yuzu aioli and sweet/tart ponzu sauce. Skip the Philly cheese steak (heavy) and the octopus (mealy), and instead inhale the sexy fish board, an ever-changing combo of the raw and the marinated from the sea. The other best thing is truffle gnudi — potato-less gnocchi strewn with portobello “soil.” Charming. The soil is tiny dots of intense portobello. The gnudi are feathery. The mushrooms are beefy. And rich fresh pesto knits it all together.
