#48 Magic Noodle

Magic Noodle

Surprising that such dazzling tastes come from a very beige room with no character or personality to speak of. But wait: You can see the cooks stretching noodles in the open kitchen at the back. This is interesting. Cause the noodles are indeed magic. Rice or wheat, fat or thin, in soup or on the plate, these noodles are great and so are the flavours with them. House signature The Magic is crystal clear chicken broth jumped up with star anise, cloves and a little heat. To make it a meal-in-a-bowl there are classic thin wheat noodles, sweet pickled daikon batons, coriander, green onion, moist chicken, lamb and beef and an overlooked fried egg. Fab! Pork belly is broad rice noodles and fat red cooked pork belly chunks in dark deep broth spiked with star anise. Other fave: Beijing Bang: Pungent fab sauce, a marriage of minced pork and soy, on rice noodles with edamame, bean sprouts, carrot and celery shreds. It’s a great formula.
