Food trucks trend hits area

Spring is finally in the air and Ward 25 offers a wealth of reasons to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather!

Beginning mid-May, the Toronto Botanical Garden Organic Farmers’ Market will be back in action. It is only a short walk or ride west on Lawrence Avenue from the Don Mills Trail! Come out every Thursday between 3 and 7 p.m. until mid-October to find the best in local and organic produce as well as prepared foods and snacks! Search for the TBG Organic Farmers’ Market on Facebook for more information.

On May 5, the Better Living Community Centre is bringing the food truck craze to Don Mills! Head over to 1 Overland Dr. for a variety of food from the city’s favourite food trucks and lively entertainment.

Visit www.betterlivinghealth.org and check their Upcoming Events section for further details.

If you head east on Overland Drive from the Better Living Community Centre, in a few short blocks you will be on the Don Mills Trail. You can take this great multi-use trail up to Bond Park in the north and to just above Eglinton Avenue in the south.

Wherever you find yourself in Ward 25, if you think your street could use a few more trees, City of Toronto: Urban Forestry will plant a tree on the city-owned street allowance in front of your home at no cost. Plantings take place during the spring and fall, so now is the perfect time!

Contact my office at 416-395-6408, or reach me through e-mail at Councillor_Robinson@toronto.ca, and we will happily co-ordinate a tree planting.
