These movies are open to the public. Free parking and wheelchair accessible. Time: 1:30 p.m. Cost: $5. 210 Wilson Avenue Thursday, May 10 Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy (United States) 2013, 90 minutes Explores the unique role of Jewish composers and lyricists in the creation of the modern American musical and many of the songs that comprise "The American Songbook." Over the fifty-year period of its development, the songs of the Broadway musical were created almost exclusively by Jewish Americans. Thursday, May 17 Tony Curtis: Driven to Stardom (United States) 2011, 96 minutes Tony Curtis, the man who influenced Elvis Presley and James Dean, was one of the very first teen idols. From his difficult upbringing in the Bronx to his unprecedented fame and infamous way with women the film presents Mr. Curtis's life in all its rags to riches glory. Thursday, May 24 The Klezmatics: On Holy Ground (United States) 2010, 106 minutes Feature-length documentary about the Grammy Award- winning, New York-based, klezmer band. This film follows the Klezmatics for over three years capturing the band's highs, lows, and relentless march forward. Thursday, May 31 A Matter of Size (Israel) 2010, 90 minutes A hilarious and heart-warming comedy about a coming out of a different kind: four overweight guys who learn to love themselves through the Japanese sport of sumo wrestling. Thursday, June 7 From Shtetl to Swing (United States) 2003, 52 minutes Between 1880 and 1924, 2.5 million Jews fled persecution in Russia and Eastern Europe and migrated to America. This film chronicles how the music from these immigrants mixed and changed the music of America. Thursday, June 14 Wunderkinder (Germany) 2011, 96 minutes Wunderkinder tells a tale of three exceptionally musically talented children, who develop a deep and genuine friendship, extending beyond their different religions and nationalities. This friendship is put to the test during the Nazi occupation of their homeland.
