Shit I’m in Love With You Again at The Toronto Fringe Festival

Friday Jul 6, 2018 to Sunday Jul 15, 2018
07:00 PM until 08:00 PM

Fresh off a 2017 Edinburgh Fringe SELL OUT & a run at The Off Broadway Encore Series at SOHO Playhouse, Fringe Hit Shit I’m in Love With You Again is coming to Toronto Fringe Festival. SIILWYA was nominated for a Just For Laughs “Best Comedy Award” and was one of Mervyn Stutter’s Pick of Edinburgh Fringe. The show is written by Fringe Veteran Rachelle Elie, Lyrics by Elie & U.K. musician Luke Jackson who also performs musical accompaniment throughout the show. From deliriously happy to furiously confused, Sh!t I’m in Love With You Again expresses the thoughts we’ve all had in our relationships but are afraid to express. Rachelle plays the characters of her life - her parents, her therapist, her lovers and various snotty children (to name just a few.) Glitzy set and costume changes complete the story, transforming love from a mundane affair to a fairytale spectacle that everyone can relate to! Original cheeky songs include: Monogamy, F*ck First and I Want to Spank My Kids This Xmas. Rachelle Elie has toured four original one-woman shows across Canada and has been doing comedy in Toronto since the early 90’s. She is nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award in the category of “BEST BREAKOUT ARTIST” this year and her CD Shit I’m Love With You Again is on SIRIUS XM Canada Laughs. Elie has performed stand up at the Women In Comedy Festival in Boston, hosted both CrackUp Festival galas in 2018 and is producer of Toronto’s longest running Rag Bag Cabaret. “Elie is especially skilled at setting you up with a warm smile and an “awwww”-inducing story only to yank the carpet from under you.”  -The Ottawa Citizen “a magical whirlwind romantic adventure” -Three Weeks “Elie could easily have been the love child of Carol Burnett and Lenny Bruce.” -Show Score
